Squadron Burgee: greenbay.png
Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
In early 1940 Milwaukee Power Squadron was the only squadron in the state of Wisconsin. Several members of the Milwaukee Power Squadron lived or worked in Northeast Wisconsin and commuted to Milwaukee for meetings and classes. Wishing to take advantage of the waters of Green Bay, the Green Bay Power Squadron was formed. Chartered on 28 February 1940 then a unit of D/9, as the current D/10 was not formed until 11 November 1940.
The burgee consists of letters "GB" in navy blue to signify the city that bears it name and its maritime tradition.
There are two vertical navy blue stripes 3/4 down the fly. These stripes signify the shores of Green Bay, on the west, Wisconsin and Michigan to the east, Door County.
There are two red vertical stripes that run the entire length of both the upper and lower fly and are joined at the tip, signifying our close tie with members of Milwaukee Sail and Power Squadron from which we got ! our start.
The entire burgee is set on a field of white, which represents the clear waters of Green Bay.
